Common lawyers across India have great hope and expectations from you, Hon’ble Chief Justice of India Mr. Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai.

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Justice B.R. Gavai formally took charge as the 52nd Chief Justice of India, succeeding Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, who retired on Tuesday.

During your tenure, we look forward to a judiciary driven by merit and fairness — where even those without godfathers, without family lineage in law, but who possess true legal knowledge, discipline, and passion, can rise to become Judges and Senior Advocates.

The legal community expects a system where deserving lawyers from all castes, marginalized communities, and underrepresented regions are given fair representation and the opportunity to serve justice at the highest levels.

This is not just a hope — it’s a call for transformation.
Said Dr. Anthony Raju, Advocate Supreme Court of India and
Chairman, Indian National Human Rights Protection Council.
