Every action we take leaves a mark on people’s lives and communities. That’s why at HRCIN we don’t just talk about human rights—we measure our impact. A formal Human Rights Impact Assessment (HRIA) helps us identify where we’re creating real positive change and where we still need to improve.
Through on-the-ground interviews, surveys, and stakeholder workshops, our team maps both intended and unintended consequences of projects—whether in education, healthcare, or local governance. We track key indicators like the number of rights-holder consultations, resolved grievances, and policy changes inspired by our recommendations. By publishing these metrics in annual reports, we hold ourselves accountable and invite feedback from civil-society partners.
But data alone isn’t enough. We pair quantitative findings with personal stories: a survivor who felt empowered to access legal aid, a farmers’ cooperative that secured fair pricing through advocacy, or a school that adopted inclusive teaching practices after our workshop. These narratives bring the numbers to life and remind us of the real-world dignity at stake.
Looking ahead, we’re expanding our HRIA toolkit to cover digital rights—ensuring that new technologies respect privacy and freedom of expression—and conflict-sensitive approaches in fragile regions. By continually refining our methods and sharing lessons learned, HRCIN aims to turn impact assessments from a checkbox exercise into a catalyst for lasting social justice.
